Not only is Toronto the capital of Ontario, it is one of the most sophisticated cities in all of Canada. It's safe to vacation there any time of year as it offers so many activities. During the winter there is Designs in Ice December), the Toronto Winter City Festival (January and February), Canada Day (July 1) which is held at Mel Lastman Square, and the Celebrate Toronto Street Festival (all summer). Toronto is a great center for multi-cultural experiences.

Regardless of the time of day there's always some activity or place to go in Toronto. The CN Tower, the tallest building in the world at 553.33m, is a wonderful attraction. The tower boasts an Outdoor Observation Deck and the glass floor situated 342m off the ground. If you prefer higher elevations, check out the Horizons Caf, and the Indoor Observation Deck another 6m up. Or, go up near the top to the restaurant called 360, which is located 351m off the ground and rotates a full 360 degrees every 72 minutes. Not only is the view remarkable, but the food is mouthwatering. For those that prefer to go even higher, try the Sky Pod the highest observation tower in the world at 447m above the ground. The CN Tower is an adventure all by itself.

For animal lovers, the Toronto Zoo is home to more than 5,000 of them from 460-plus species. The whole family will have a great experience here. The zoo is divided into sections representing regions of the world: Africa, the Americas, Australasia, Canadian Domain, Eurasia and Indo- Malaya. There are different levels from which to view the animals in their indoor and outdoor habitats. You can walk over 10km of trails. When you work up an appetite, you have at least seven different restaurants in which to have a meal. In addition there are many carts and snack bars where you can find tasty treats. Don't miss the Baby Komodo Dragons and the Sumatran Tiger Cubs.

As Toronto is a metropolitan area there are many different forms of transportation available to you. Toronto has a subway system that operates weekdays and Saturday from 6:00am - 1:30pm, and Sundays from 9:00am - 1:30pm. Toronto also has many buses that will take you downtown, out of town, and everywhere else.

Two weeks sounds like a nice long vacation, but it isn't actually enough time to appreciate all of Toronto. It's the perfect place for those who love sophisticated city life. People of all ages will find many things that will appeal to them and give them excellent memories to take home.
